Larynx
Next time you’ll notice the way words
form against the roof of your mouth.
The way sounds trickle off your tongue,
or get trapped in your throat – my throat.
Sometimes these words don’t want out,
or you desire them to be spoken aloud so much,
they become a jumble of raw emotion,
entangled in the way you think—feel.
Trust can be hard to come by,
but sometimes when allowed,
the words leap out,
and the world that once was
is no longer.
But forever changed,
just as the pressure in your chest
has been lifted carried out and away
into
silence.
